Chip or Dale (or both at once in a two-player co-op game), chipmunk rescuers, start a rescue operation, the purpose of which is to find a lost kitten, and during the search they find themselves involved in an intrigue prepared by the cat Fat Belly. Trying to return the Nut stolen by him, Chip and Dale at the same time ruin his plans.

The game is made in the platformer genre with side (and at some levels - vertical) scrolling. The main weapons of the Chipmunks are portable items distributed throughout the game levels: boxes, apples, bolts, etc. The boxes can contain various bonuses, they can also be used as cover (but they break on the first successful throw at the enemy). During a two-player game, chipmunks can carry each other (usually this feature is used so that one player can throw the other into a secret or hard-to-reach place).

Enemies in the game are diverse, each level is characterized by its own set of opponents. There are characters from the animated series both in the role of villains (mechanical dogs, aliens capable of shapeshifting, etc.) and as non-playable characters (Rocky helps to overcome walls at bonus levels, Zipper acts as a guardian, neutralizing everyone for a while on-screen opponents). Players also need to avoid various obstacles and traps, such as electrical discharges, hydraulic presses, pushpins, and more.
At the end of most levels, the player will have a fight with an intermediate boss, and at the end of the game there will be a duel with Fat Belly himself.
